Animation: Project LEO

An animation made by Live Illustration

A lot of people ask us to make animations. After we explain ‘it’s more complicated than you think…’ and if they are still up for it we make something like this.

Project LEO (Local Energy Oxfordshire) was about local energy systems. It was about how we could equitably take control of energy supply locally.

When we make an animation we rigorously stick to a system. Script first, then voice over, then story board and then.. the animation.

When you make an animation the ‘it’s more complicated than you think…’ is usually the revelation that about 5-% or more of the work happens before a drawing has even been made.

We are really proud of the project LEO animation.. Not least as it turns into a Rich Picture right at the end!

Which came first? The animation or the Rich Picture?
